“What is your most waste-of-time movie? Why?”

For me, it has got to be WHEN A STRANGER CALLS.

The trailer of that movie really caught my attention, and I was expecting a lot from it, because the trailer itself got me scared. I watched it in the movie house the day it came out, and I was really disappointed with it! It is definitely one of the most stupid low budget scary films I've ever watched. First of all, it starts with this weird murder scene which has no connection to the rest of the movie, besides the ending. Turns out it's the same murderer. Weird thing is, the murderer has no connection to the owner of the house the girl is guarding, nor does he have any connection to the girl whatsoever. So it just leaves you all... HEH? by the end of the movie. Another thing is, the story just goes around in circles. If the movie were 2 hours long, 15 minutes were dedicated to the scenes about the mysterious murderer at the beginning and end, 15 minutes dedicated to stuff about the girl's life, and an hour and a half all on the girl running around with a phone panicking. At first the movie gets you all suspensed, because you really don't know what's going to happen to the girl, but after a while everything just seems so repetitive. Definitely a waste of time and money. Don't even bother buying the DVD. Spend your 70 bux on Mcdo nalang. :D

Patet Lugtu's blog (for favorite movie)

How can you not love Mean Girls? I’ve seen it more than 30 times, and never get sick of it that I memorize almost the whole script.

I like this movie because I can relate to it. Believe it or not, some scenes that looked exaggerated would really happen in real life, in Woodrose. It’s really evident in the youth today and to see a sort of “reenactment” of high school makes the movie nice even though it’s where I get most of my kaartehan from. There’s nothing new about it, and nothing that I haven’t seen a thousand times before but it’s funny and entertaining. Lindsay Lohan and Rachel McAdams will always be Cady Heron and Regina George to me which means they were good actresses. Everyone in high school can probably relate to this – from JV jocks, Asian nerds, cool Asians, girls who eat their feelings, girls who don’t eat anything, unfriendly black hotties..

It’s the only movie that would ask if butter is a carb, that has rules on wearing pink on Wednesdays, and where you would meet some one who’s “almost too gay to function.” Tina Fey did a great job making the lines sound so natural and something that will stick to the mind of anyone who watches it.

What's my favorite movie?

I had quite a hard time with this blog, because I had to pick one movie from all my favorite movies. Turns out, I still haven't picked. But among all the movies I like, I've chosen my top 4, and decided to write a little about each instead and why I consider them my favorites.

#1 THE BREAKFAST CLUB
I fell in love with this movie immediately. It shows how 5 different teenagers of different stereotypes are brought together by detention, and during those hours together, they show who they really are and bring out their real selves. I love the concept of this movie and the message it gives out. It shows us the shallow side of highschool and what life is really about. Definitely a favorite. ;)

#2 MOULIN ROUGE!
How can you not fall in love with Ewan McGregor in this film. :D I love the story and the songs. I was never a fan of Nicole Kidman, but I really love her in this movie. This also falls under my favorite love films, because the story of Christian and Satine isn't THAT common and predictable.

#3 13 GOING ON 30
The storyline of this movie is so unique and I can never seem to get tired of watching this over and over again. It is the type of movie you'd like to watch when you're bored and sad. It gives me that good feeling every time, even though I've watched it a lot of times already.

#4 PRIME
And this is because I love Bryan Greenberg. I hate Uma Thurman, but she looks so much better in this movie compared to her other ones. The love story of David and Rafi in the story is exciting, *kakakilig*, and unpredictable. This is probably why I liked the movie so much, because it wasn't any typical love story.

Letter

Dear Dan,
Well hey, guess what, it's YOU I'm writing to. Yes, among everyone else, I chose you. By the time you read this, I'll be dead. I wouldn't want this letter to be sad, so let's lay it more on the positive side, ok? I don't want any tears. You just cried to Walk To Remember the other and I wouldn't want you crying tonight again. So... shocked I picked you? Chesca's usually my partner in crime, but it's you I believe in -- not the I don't believe in Che, but ANYWAY. It's always been that way, hasn't it? I see you taking care of everyone I love in the future. I see you taking care of our family. And this time, I'm not being sarcastic. It's always been you taking care of everyone; keep it that way, okay? Not that I'm telling you to do this and that.. but since I'm dead by now, you really are the ate already. Be a good one, k. :P I know you're gonna be a much better one - although a less funny one. BWAHAHA. Don't bore them to death. Let Che do the entertaining. Go out with Che, she needs a noisy mall partner. Don't be too quiet.

Now that I'm gone, things are gonna be much lighter, won't it? Sorry for all the hassle I caused, and all my "exagge"-ness everyday. I would also like to apoligize for my being mean and insensitive; please tell that to the others too, you know I don't always mean that. Don't worry, there's gonna be less complaints and more work done from now on. :P I'm gonna really miss you guys. Tell my friends as well that I'm gonna miss all of them, and that they have to still keep me updated with all the chismis. :P

As for my things, you guys are gonna have to share it among yourselves. But please tell Che she can have my CDs. :P Make sure you don't destroy any of my things, or else I'm gonna show up and haunt you little children down. >:)

I wouldn't want this to be too long, you might get bored sooner or later. Better to keep it short, right? Just make sure things change for the better and not for the worse. And wherever I end up, I'll always keep an eye on you guys. ;) I love you :D

Love, Mara

You took care of the cat already...

Question for God: "How do Adam and Eve really look like?"
- Just a thought. As of now, I can't really think of what to ask Him. I'd love to ask Him though about the workload & pressure of 4th year, but the question doesn't seem that interesting. It's not something you really tend to think about. So, how do they really look like? HHHMMMM...

OH!! And I would like to ask him too... "Why did you make my hands so liney?"
- This is because I have the liney-est hands, ever. And it's different from everyone else's. :( Except my mom's, hahahaha!

If I could ask anyone, whether dead or alive, a question, I would ask...
Hmmmm. I would ask John Lennon:
"Why did you marry the hideous Yoko Ono?"
OR I would ask Shakespeare:
"Why didn't you purchase a toupee for your bald spot?"
OR I would also ask Tom Cruise and Katie Holmes:
"Where's Suri?"
OR I would ask Amelia Earhart:
"Where are you?"

Hot Seat

Armaggedon on Star Movies. I SHALL NOT WATCH. I do not want to watch tonight and end up having poofy eyes tomorrow morning. That movie makes me CRY. Aaaah, I love it.

1. What was the funniest thing I did when I was a baby?
Dad: When our 2nd born, Daniela, arrived from the hospital. At first you were looking her and touching her feet. After a while, you were pinching her feet really hard na and Dan started crying. (I hated her then.)

2. What was my first word?
Mom: Melk. (Oh dear.)

3. What was my first food/favorite food?
Mom: Osterized (?) sayote (I don’t even know what that is.)

4. What was the craziest thing you did when you were a student?
Dad: I graduated. Haha. No, don’t put that. I got away with having a good time and still passing.
Mom: I wanted to skip classes because all my friends were cutting to watch a tagalog movie. I went to the clinic scratching myself and telling the nurse that I had allergies. They didn’t believe me and kept giving me medicines!

5. How did you and dad/mom meet?
Dad: We were at the same party, and I was one of the guys who threw your mom to the pool. After that, we became friends.

6. If you could do anything other than what you are doing now, what would it be?
Dad: Me? I would travel and do photography.
Mom: Aah! I would travel! And shop ‘til I drop.

7. Tell me a secret you kept from your parents.
Dad: The first time I smoked. And I would take out the car without permission.
Mom: Same, smoking. Your lola found out about me smoking only when I got married.

8. Tell me something about you that I still don't know.
Dad: I’m gay. *changes his mind* I’m really Aga Mulach.
Mom: Sorry, but I'm also hiding it from your dad.

My parents' answers are so short. :(

The astronauts are leaving! This is so sad. I have to watch Armaggedon; I love crying to this movie. :’)

Who Am I?

I'm Mara. And I'm tired. I just typed in 45 links of my batchmates.

I am a 16-year old with a mind of a 6-year old. I laugh at the most shallow things. I love laughter, especially the uncontrollable ones that last for almost 5 minutes. I love talking; most of the time I'm so excited to talk that its speed ranges from 60-80 words a minute.

I'm not so good with the About Me's; usually I fill them up with lyrics or one liner stuff. I didn't prepare anything for this blog, so allow me to jump from one topic to another.

I am supposedly the eldest among 5 siblings, but I choose to think otherwise. My 13-year old sister makes a good mom, so I offered her the slot of being the eldest. My whole family plays badminton, except me. Oh the joys of life. I'm fond of computers though, and since I'd be in front of one everytime my family leaves me home alone to play badminton, that's the one thing they think I'm actually good at. But it's okay, because someday I know I will have my shining moments. Bwahahaha.

I want to be a lot of things. What do I want to be when I grow up? I want to be a lawyer who's a business woman who cooks GOOD GOOD GOOD food and takes byoooootiful photographs. I don't think I can be a lawyer though, because it seems so serious and you have to go a long way before being one. I don't think I can be a cook, because I don't cook at all. I just eat. I don't think I can be a photographer, because I can't even take good picture in school with my classmates' digicams. They always end up blurry. :( But hopefully poppa will teach me someday. I think I'm gonna end up being a business woman, because... that's what's left of my dream multi-tasking person. And someday I'm gonna climb that oh so famous corporate ladder.

I love to blog. Last summer I used to blog almost everyday. I blog about my thoughts, what's happening, and the stupid stuff I see around me. The way I blog depends on my mood though, and usually there's a lot of sarcasm & weirdness to it. This is a blog for Compo though, so I'm guessing it has to be formal and everything.
I love making layouts; I think it's a sickness. I used to change the layout of my
LJ after every other blog. Right now I have more control over that addiction of mine. Unfortunately, I don't know my way through blogspot, so I feel caged up blogging with such a bare layout.

I love being artsy fartsy in my own special way. I love doodling, someday that thing will take me far places. I write anything anywhere. From school books to notebooks to furniture, as long as it's write-able. Haha! I also love using Adobe Photoshop, IT'S A GODSENT.

My favorite TV shows are FRIENDS, Smallville and One Tree Hill. I don't really watch TV though, I just download episodes of those shows online. My favorite movies are Moulin Rouge, Virgin Suicides, Prime and Marvel & DC Comics movies. I love listening to The Beatles, The Beach Boys, Jason Mraz, Jack's Mannequin and all that pank rack blah blah's which remind me of my first few years in high school. I'm not exactly updated with the music nowadays, but it's okay because I'm pretty contented with what I'm listening to now. I love to eat. Shower me with Chips Ahoy! Chewy and I shall love you forever. I used to eat that for breakfast, merienda and midnight snack everyday. I believe Friday's has the best desert EVER. I love Superman, along with my fellow Superman fan Monica Mitra. Someday I'm gonna meet Superman and make Lois Lane look like a mongoloid next to me, making it Superman And Mara.

I'm a girl with big dreams. I may have the weirdest dreams too, but I know someday I'll make at least half of them come true. Especially the Superman one. ;)

Bow.
